  • What is factory tint?
Factory tint is window tint that is embedded into the glass itself. Most vehicles come with 20% factory tint on the back windows.
  • Why is my tint blurry/bubbly?
Tint needs time to cure. It can take up to a week for tint to fully settle in the summer, and up to 2 weeks in the winter. If you still see any bubbles or blurryness after the cure time, then CONTACT US. Our tint is lifetime warranty.
  • Can I match the back tint?
Yes, you can! Factory tint is 20%, and is most likely the tint that is currently on your rear windows. So if you would like to match the back, you would need a 20% on the 2 fronts. That will cost $125+hst for any vehicle except a Ford Transit, which costs $149+hst.
  • How Dark is 5% tint?
5% Tint is a limo tint. It is the darkest shade offered, and the best for privacy. Beware- 5 percent automotive tint is difficult to see out of at night for most people. Many will have to roll their windows down while driving in a dark in an area without streetlights.
  • Can I wash my car after getting my windows tinted?
Yes, you can. Tint is applied to the inside of the glass, so you can wash the exterior of your car and windows right away. You will have to wait at least 1 week before washing the windows from the inside though.
  • What is legal tint?
In Ontario, the rear windows do not have any limitations, they can technically be painted. The 2 front windows cannot be darker then a 70% tint to pass a safety inspection. This very light tint will already be embedded inside the glass, meaning no more tint can be applied to the front windows to legally pass a safety. Yet, dealerships in Ontario are allowed to sell tint on the 2 front windows to their customers. (After a safety has been obtained) Because of this, ticketing for tint is very much a grey area and is generally left up to officer discression. Ontarios website says that 30% darkness is allowed on the 2 front windows. Tint manufactures do not grade tint on darkness, but on how much light is transmitted. This means that when the Ontario website says 30% darkness, they really mean a 70% tint.
  • How long do I need to keep my windows up after tinting?
Do not roll your windows down for at least 2 days after having your vehicle tinted.
  • What side of the window is the tint on?
The tint film is applied to the inside of your car windows.
  • Can I make a sticker of anything?
Pretty much! We specialize in custom making stickers, and can print just about anything. Whether you have a photo you want turned into a bumper sticker, or need a design made, we can help.
  • What kind of vinyl does Pro Tint use?
It depends on the project, but we most commonly use 3M, Avery, and Arlon vinyls.
  • Can I put on a decal myself?
Small ones yes, but we suggest not to install large decals without experience. Anything under 12 inches is quite simple to do and anything over 3 feet is quite difficult.
